Assessments
We assess before we prescribe. Two precision exams — one for athletes, one for adults — built on the same philosophy: understand the individual before determining the training.
Total Athletic Proficiency Exam
DON'T GUESS ABOUT YOUR ATHLETE.KNOW.
The Total Athletic Proficiency Exam provides an in-depth look at how an athlete moves, functions and performs — before training begins.
TAP helps uncover strengths, limitations, compensations and performance opportunities that may not be obvious during practices, games or traditional workouts.
Before I train the athlete, I study the athlete.
Why TAP Exists
TRAINING SHOULD NEVER BEGIN WITH GUESSING.
Many athletes begin training based simply on age, sport or position. Antonio takes a different approach. Before determining what an athlete needs to do, he wants to understand what that athlete's body is already doing.
TAP examines the athlete as an individual. The assessment is designed to reveal information that can help guide smarter, more individualized athletic development.
I don't want to know what an athlete SHOULD be able to do. I want to see what THIS athlete can actually do.
What We Assess
THE ATHLETE FROM THE GROUND UP.
The examination looks for restrictions, weaknesses, compensation patterns, asymmetries and performance opportunities.

TAP is a sports performance and movement assessment. It does not diagnose injuries or medical conditions, and does not replace evaluation by a physician or physical therapist.
SMALL DETAILS CAN CREATE BIG PERFORMANCE DIFFERENCES.
What We're Looking For
THE DETAILS OTHER PEOPLE MISS.
Athletic performance is rarely limited by only one thing. A weakness may appear during acceleration. An asymmetry may become visible during a single-leg movement. A mobility limitation may affect technique. Poor stability may influence power production.
An athlete may be strong but unable to control that strength efficiently during movement. TAP is designed to connect these pieces.
The TAP Process
ASSESS. ANALYZE. UNDERSTAND. BUILD.
01
Assess
Antonio observes how the athlete moves through a structured series of physical and athletic evaluations.
02
Analyze
Movement patterns, strengths, weaknesses, limitations, asymmetries and performance characteristics are examined.
03
Understand
Antonio explains the findings to the athlete and parent in understandable language. The goal is for everyone to understand what was found and why it matters.
04
Build
The findings provide direction for the athlete's next phase of development — whether they train with Antonio Davis Training or not.
For Parents
STOP WONDERING WHAT YOUR ATHLETE NEEDS.
Parents often know their child needs to become faster, stronger or more explosive — but may not know what is actually limiting those qualities. TAP provides a more objective starting point.
What is influencing the athlete's performance? That distinction is important.
Instead of starting with...
"They need more speed."
"They need to get stronger."
"They need more agility."
TAP asks
WHY?

THE ASSESSMENT IS THE BEGINNING.
TAP is not an isolated test. It is the starting point of the Antonio Davis Training development process.

Get Started
BEFORE YOU DECIDE HOW TO TRAIN YOUR ATHLETE...
UNDERSTAND YOUR ATHLETE.
The Total Athletic Proficiency Exam gives athletes and parents a clearer picture of how the body moves, performs and responds — and provides direction for what comes next.
Return to Performance
Cleared Doesn't Always Mean
Ready.
Some athletes finish rehabilitation medically cleared but still need to rebuild strength, movement confidence, change of direction, deceleration, and sport-specific capacity before returning to full competition.
Antonio's Knee Injury Performance Specialist work begins where medical rehabilitation ends — post-clearance performance development, not medical treatment.
